Can’t move it! Why?
For the most part, movers can move anything in your house. When you are paying for our services, we are fine moving whatever needs to be moved, it’s our job after all.
However, we need to understand what items you want to personally manage. These can be anything, but for the most part, there are about five things movers can’t move.
These items on the list below are the top 5 things among our movers that they cannot move.
Things we can’t move
Pets – Movers can’t and won’t move your pet. Moving trucks are commercial vehicles and they are not suitable for pet relocation.
There are pet transportation companies who will be happy to take care of the issue for you. Also, we ask you to keep your pets in a safe space away from movers.
We want to make sure that your pets will stay safe during the relocation process. While moving, movers tend to keep doors open and handle difficult furniture by hand.
Any interactions with animals can slow down your moving process.
Plants – Plants are difficult to move, especially if you are movers. Moving trucks don’t have the proper equipment and environment for plants to be moved. When it comes to Florida, leaving the state you have to go thru Agriculture inspection.
Having plants on the truck can make it very difficult and result in fines. Save your money, your plants, and nerves. Move plants yourself or ask your friends for help. If you have extra large pots – leave it to us.
Valuables – Gold, diamonds, paperwork and all of the small valuable items. Everything of value that you keep in your safe or hidden, please take them with you.
Any moving company will ask you to do the same. Moving companies require you to sign a waiver on a liability for those items.
Things we shouldn’t know about
Firearms – Out of sight, out of mind. We don’t want to know that you have a firearm nor do we want to be responsible for handling it.
Similar to plants, there are a lot of legal implications that come from us handling your firearms because if it requires physically handling them, that would require licenses. It’s just better off avoided.
Important paperwork or documents – If you have a desk that happens to have identification numbers, social security cards, tax forms, etc. We don’t want anything to do with that. In terms of keeping out movers legally safe, we insist that you personally manage and hide this information from us.
